Appliance World’s SEO Progress: Building From 10K to 54K Monthly Traffic

According to Ahrefs Appliance World are now at 54,388 monthly organic visitors, up from just over 10,000 when I joined the company in August 2022.

How?

SEO has always been important but unfortunately has never had our full focus. Rebuilding the website, changing backend systems, dialling in our ads, and a warehouse move have taken priority.

SEO is unpredictable – search engines can change your fortunes on any given day. However, rebuilding our website for speed, eliminating most technical SEO errors, and creating highly relevant collection and targeted blog pages has delivered tremendous results. While nothing drives sales quite like ads, there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing sales flow from organic search traffic.

Rankings fluctuate, but currently in the UK we’re positioned at:

  • #2 for Integrated fridge freezer & Integrated fridge
  • #2 for Dryers (after Currys)
  • #4 for Hotpoint washing machines
  • #3 for AEG washing machines
  • #1 for Clearpay terms and buy now pay later terms around appliances

We rank #1 for other terms too, but these are high-intent shopping keywords that directly drive sales.

Our approach centres on providing genuine value and answering real customer questions using insights that AI can’t replicate. We focus intensely on relevance for searched terms, consistently improve our pages beyond what competitors offer, and maintain patience throughout the process. The foundation of our rebuilt site and structural improvements have been the biggest drivers of our recent success.
